Getting to the ground on public transport

By Bus From Liverpool City Centre

Firstly, Prescot is NOT FAR from Liverpool town centre. Some people seem to think it is far out.

For those who don’t know it, it is only a few minutes by bus past Huyton. The latest Merseytravel timetable shows that it takes just 36 minutes from the Queens Square Gyratory bus-stops to Prescot.

Secondly, the buses are VERY frequent – every 10 mins up to 8pm, then every 20 mins after 8pm.

Thirdly, the bus you need from Liverpool to Prescot is either the 10 or 10A – DO NOT get the 10B or 10C or 10 D or 10N buses, as they stop at Huyton and won’t take you to Prescot.

The route is James St, Queen Square >London Road >Kensington > then Prescot Road through Old Swan, then East Prescot Road to Dovecot and Page Moss. Then the Liverpool Road to Derby Street then High Street in Prescot.

Our ground, Valerie Park is the ground we share with Prescot Cables. You get off the bus at The Hope and Anchor pub on the High Street in Prescot. The ground is just 1 minute’s walk from there ( down Hope Street).

Directions from Prescot Station to the Ground On Foot

This is a straight, easy route so easy to find.

As you come out of the station, there is a road called Station Road directly opposite, next to the pub. Go down that little road, it takes you to a little roundabout that leads to the Cables Retail Park.

Walk across the car park and find the path between Argos and Next, and keep walking. You’re still on Station Road.

Keep walking straight and Station Road becomes Aspinall Street. You’ll pass the big Somerfield car park on your left and the post office on your right.

Keep going straight onto Atherton Street.

Turn left onto High Street (A57) and you’ll see the Hope & Anchor pub a short distance on your right.

Turn right at the Hope & Anchor and you’ll be on Hope Street where the ground is at the bottom of the street.
