About AFC Liverpool
AFC Liverpool is an independent football club that was set up in 2008 by Liverpool fans who were priced out of top flight football. The club is owned by the fans and run by the fans. Anyone can become a member and have an equal vote on how the club develops. One member, one vote.
AFC Liverpool is a genuine, not for profit football club, so all the revenue generated stays within the club and doesn’t line the pockets of a multi-millionaire owner.
Although the club is run by fans, the Society Board has been carefully picked and voted for by the members to include many professionals in their respective fields, so there is nothing amateurish about the make up of the club.
AFC Liverpool is run as a professional organisation with big ambitions, both on and off the pitch but always puts the fans first.
It is aimed especially at those Liverpool fans, who for whatever reason, are not attending Premier League football, be they priced out or just unable to get tickets.
We currently play in the North West Counties League Premier Division, five promotions from the Football League.
Is It Against Liverpool FC?
No. Quite the opposite. It draws it’s support base from Liverpool fans. AFC Liverpool fans still support Liverpool and those who can, will still go to Anfield to support the Reds. AFC Liverpool is here to provide a match going experience for all those who currently do not have football in their lives due to the rising costs involved.
Because thousands of Reds can’t get to games anymore, either because it is difficult to get tickets or because they can’t afford them. The average age of a Premier League fan is 43, so we need a way to get kids hooked into experiencing football at an actual match, and there is no better surrounding than passionate LFC supporters.
Remember – this is not an attack on LFC or a rejection of LFC. It is here for the many thousands of Reds priced out of Premier League football. We believe that football should not be a TV show and exclusive to those who can afford it.
Football is the worlds game; it should be run for the people, by the people and affordable to all.
