Chris Stammers Leaves Club

Chris Stammers last night informed the AFC Liverpool Board of his wish to resign as first team manager and the Chairman reluctantly accepted.

First team assistant manager Stuart Keir and AFC Liverpool reserve manager Ben Williams will take temporary charge of first team duties ahead of the match with Charnock Richard on the 30th December as the board endeavour to find a full time replacement for the vacant manager position.

Chris Stammers prepared a statement, saying “I would like to thank everyone for the opportunity and it’s a great club with great fans and I am sure it will go from strength to strength. The club is bigger than any one person and it’s been a hard decision and I wish the club all the best.”

Chairman Chris Stirrup’s statement reads “Obviously it’s a shock that Chris has come to this decision but his mind is made up. I’m sure everyone here would want to wish Chris well and we hope to see him again soon.”

We would like to thank Chris for the work he put in pre-season putting together a young, ambitious side in a short period of time and preparing them for a league campaign. We thank him also for some exciting attacking football and some great performances this season and we wish him all the best.
