Winstanley St. Aidans 2 – AFC Liverpool Reserves 3

AFC Liverpool reserves faced Winstanley St. Aidans on Wednesday evening with The Reds coming out on top in a tight game. The Wigan and District Premier Division Champions pushed the reserve side hard and it took a Joe Marsh winning goal to seal the win. Dylan Simpson put in a Man of the Match performance for AFC scoring a brace along the way.

The reserve team manager George Marsh was positive about the result and of his sides performance. “Winstanley are a good side and the lads are still getting to know each other, some being shifted to different positions during the game. They adapted well, all worked really hard, there’s still room for improvement but I’m extremely pleased with what I saw tonight.”

The reserve team train every Tuesday at Buckley Hill and are still available for pre-season friendly games.
