Youth & Ladies Weekend Round Up

Away ShirtIn the South Liverpool & District JFL, the Under 11’s had a good weekend with a 6-1 win over FC Start Athletic.

Likewise, there was a good win for the Sunday Under 15’s as they beat BPR Leira 5-0 to retain top spot in the Merseyside & Halewood JFL. Two goals from Joe and one each from Nial, Tom & Elliot kept the lads a point ahead of Crosby Stuart and two ahead of Kirkby Woodpecker.

The Under 16’s also had a successful weekend as they progressed into the final of the Adam Bell Cup with a 6-0 win against Burscough and they will now face Dynamo Rangers on a date to be confirmed to battle it out for the trophy. Congratulations lads.

The Under 17’s were also in cup action, in the Wirral FA Youth Cup, but they had a tougher time of it, going out of the competition to Vauxhall Colts after losing 0-7.

The Sunday Under 21’s also suffered a defeat this weekend as they lost 2-4 to The Farmers in the Liverpool County Premier League Under 21 Division. Reds fan Archstanton provides the details:

A disappointing first half performance, which was summed up by conceding three goals in a six minute spell saw the Reds slip to another defeat.

A comeback could have happened in the second half with a complete reversal of performance. A Ryan Moran goal and Sean Carlson penalty were the only reward for a dominating second half effort. If two well struck efforts from outside the area had gone in, instead of striking the bar, then a draw may have been achieved.

AFC Liverpool Ladies also lost, going down 1-3 to unbeaten, top of the table Birkenhead, in the North West Women’s Regional League Division One South.
