Youth & Ladies Weekend Round Up

Away ShirtIn the Merseyside & Halewood JFL, the Sunday Under 15’s had a 1-1 with Kirkby Woodpecker. Manager Joe Wright commented that ‘our lads played well in a very competitive game. A wonder goal from Jacko. Well played lads.’ The result keeps them at the top of the table, one point ahead of Crosby Stuart in second and three points ahead of Sunday’s opponents, who lie in fourth.

The Under 16’s suffered their first loss of the season in the Craven Minor JFL, losing by the odd goal in five to Hudson Celtic. The win for Hudson Celtic, who have a game in hand, closes the gap to the Reds, who sit at the top of the table, to five points.

The Under 17’s were in cup action in the Youth Division Cup of the Wallasey & Sunday District Football League but unfortunately their participation in the competition came to an end with a 1-3 defeat to West Kirkby Wasps.

In the Southport & District League, the Saturday Under 21’s put in a battling performance against Formby Dons, losing 1-2.

The Sunday Under 21’s went out of the Liverpool County FA Sunday Intermediate Cup, losing 1-3 to Lancashire Ice in the Fourth Round.

AFC Liverpool Ladies had a cracking 5-1 win against AFC Urmston Meadowside, with Amy helping herself to a hat-trick while Antonia chipped in with the other two.
