Youth & Ladies Weekend Round Up

Away ShirtIn the Walton & Kirkdale JFL, the Under 8’s lost 2-3 to Farmers while the Under 9’s beat West Derby Pumas 2-1.

Both the Under 15’s teams lost this weekend. On Saturday, they went down 0-3 to Chester, with manager Joe Wright commenting that his team ‘played well in parts but give the ball away too much. We need to learn to keep the ball better.’ The Sunday side lost their spot at the top of the Merseyside & Halewood Jfl after losing 1-3 to Crosby Stuart and are now one of three teams at the top on the same number of points. The Reds’ goal came from Liam but Joe said, ‘our team were second best to everything today.’

In the Craven Minor JFL, the Under 16’s maintained their one hundred percent record with a 2-1 win away to Burscough and are now six points clear at the top of the league.

In the Grove Youth Division of the Wallasey & District League, the Under 17’s had a 1-1 draw with AFC Bebington Athletic, a result that keeps them in fourth place, seven points off the top with a game in hand.

In the Southport & District League, the Saturday Under 21’s lost against Devonshire for the second successive weekend, this time going down 1-6. Meanwhile, the Sunday Under 21’s drew 2-2 against Dunlops JFC in the Liverpool County Premier League.

AFC Liverpool Ladies were in cup action and they had a convincing 6-0 win against Woolton Ladies to progress to the semi final of the Liverpool County FA Women’s Challenge Cup. With on tie still outstanding, the could be paired with Alder, South Liverpool, South Sefton Borough or Tranmere Rovers Reserves when the draw is made.
